Do you know about the Industrial & commercial energy storage and introductory terminology?
Energy storage refers to the process of storing energy through media or equipment and releasing it when needed. It realizes the matching of production capacity and energy consumption in time and space through flexible charge and discharge control, which is the basis of flexibility.
From the perspective of the power system, energy storage can be divided into power generation side/power supply side, grid side, and user side energy storage. Among them, power supply side and grid side energy storage are also called front-meter energy storage or large storage.
Before-the-meter energy storage refers to energy storage that is directly connected to the power grid and has independent power and electricity meters; conversely, it is behind-the-meter energy storage. User-side energy storage is also called behind-the-meter energy storage. User-side energy storage is divided into industrial and commercial energy storage and household energy storage.
From the perspective of business model, front-of-meter energy storage should have an independent market entity identity, independently participate in market quotations, directly accept dispatch, and independent settlement, and can also be called independent energy storage.
Peak shaving means transferring excess power from areas with low power consumption to areas with insufficient power. Because electric energy cannot be stored on a large scale, it is generally used as much electricity as it generates. When the power generation in a region remains unchanged and the electricity here is not used up, the excess power needs to be transferred to areas with insufficient power through dispatch, or it is common pumped hydro storage.
Frequency regulation is because the rated frequency stipulated in our country is 50Hz. However, electrical appliances in production and life are complex and diverse, and the startup and operation of machines will affect the frequency of the power grid, which requires frequency regulation to improve power quality.
